I have always loved to bake and I have always loved to eat
cake since I was a little girl. In 2005 I decided to start formal training and took my first
course. It changed my life - learning from expert specialty bakers helped me know that this is what I wanted to do. Since attending my first course, I've
earned advanced baking certificates and baked many cakes.
I started the business by baking cakes for friends and family.
Cakes for birthdays, graduations, retirements and then weddings!I baked and created my first Gingerbread
House in 2007 and entered a contest for charity. It placed Second in
2007 and entered the contest again in 2008. It won First place in 2008! This year, in 2009, I entered the 1st
Annual Mt. Mushroom Festival in
Irvine,
Kentucky and won First Place in the professional division.
My cakes, cupcakes and frostings are homemade and since I am the owner
of Cakes by Ellie, each cake gets my special attention to every detail. The most asked for Cake flavor is Sour Cream
White followed by Chocolate Amaretto. There are so many frostings its hard to
suggest what the favorite is. Classic
Butter cream or butter cream flavored with your special flavor, chocolate
Ganache over Butter cream and Swiss Meringue certainly top the list.
I am always experimenting with new cake recipes,
fillings, frostings and designs, so never be afraid to ask for any ideas you
may have.Since every cake is
